Lynx
What ?
a mixed reality headset
For ?
Lynx
This headset designed for Lynx has various properties. It incorporates a flip-up system that allows the front part to be raised when not in use. A visor can be clipped onto the front to protect the cameras. Also, we have designed fake eyes that host the cameras and allow to give a sense/look to the person wearing it. This varies from virtual reality headsets that look like black boxes.
For this project, it was necessary to carry out an important research phase. The objective was to create a mixed reality mask (virtual + augmented). We carried out research on the semantics, meaning of the masks (in particular by being inspired by tribal masks). It is particular to draw an object that is put on the face and the look of people. Then, we had to adapt the design to the different skull shapes existing in the world, as well as to the different areas of the face that are more or less sensitive (perspiration, pressure, etc.). All this while adjusting to important technical constraints.
